The Horsley U3A Birdwatching & Natural History Group meets once a month. These field meetings are mostly at sites within a 20-minute drive of Horsley, such as Ockham Common, Guildford Riverside Park or Papercourt Gravel Pits. Our walks last between 2.5 and 3 hours, finishing by 12.30 latest.
Please remember to wear stout shoes/boots and clothing suited to the weather. Always bring binoculars if you have them. Walks will finish before lunchtime unless otherwise stated. If bad weather is expected please check with Brian Austin in advance if the walk is going ahead. It is a condition of these walks that you come at your own risk.
Members are encouraged to use websites giving information on birds and birdwatching and to take part in national surveys such as the Big Garden Birdwatch organised by the RSPB and the BTO's Garden Birdwatch.
