The Music Appreciation group meets every month to listen to, and discuss, music. Members take it in turn to host the meeting and there is usually a theme to the recordings played. There is always an interval for tea and cake with conversation! We are a friendly group with a range of tastes and experience and always welcome new members.
You may find a programme of old favourites or meet a composer you have not heard before. In the past year we have enjoyed afternoons of Weber, Rachmaninoff, Brahms, Dvorak, and contemporaries of JS Bach and GF Handel. Other meetings have had a theme like birdsong, jazz, or American music.
Sometimes a guest plays for us. In January we welcomed professional pianist, Siobhain O’Higgins, who played music by Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Schubert and Chopin.
On our forthcoming programme are Franz Josef Haydn, Anton Bruckner, Giacomo Puccini and Hector Berlioz.

Members are encouraged to attend nearby concerts. Why not join us?
