Pilates is a system of exercises, designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, posture and mental agility. This class is a Standing/chair pilates class, Joseph Pilates used different equipment, starting with things found in the a house. We use resistance bands and soft balls, provided by Margaret. Hand weights are also used if you wish to do so. At least half of the class is spent sitting down working on the upper body and abdominal muscles. This helps people getting back into exercising gently.
