Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday morning of the month, January to May and October to December. Each meeting lasts about one to two hours.

A relaxed friendly atmosphere is the mark of our meetings. The annual programme of talks endeavours to cover a wide range of subjects.

Members are encouraged to give a talk either on either a key interest relating to transport or industrial history or their career.

Last year’s outings included 2 popular full day outings:

·       a very interesting visit to the London Canal Museum on a sunny morning in May, included a journey along the Regent Canal in a converted traditional canal boat (* photos – T&IAG Gallery)

·       in late June to the Southampton area, visiting Solent Sky Museum, Eling Tide Mill and Hythe Pier Railway plus 15 minute boat trip across the Solent to rejoin the coach for return to Horsley (* photos – T&IAG Gallery)

·       In late September the Kent & East Sussex Railway  at Tenterden was inspected and included a return journey to Bodiam. Later the party viewed nearby Bodiam Castle (NT) in some what wet weather (* photos – T&IAG Gallery).

For non coach trips, travel to venues is by car (sharing basis) or public transport.  Lunch and refreshments are taken in either the on-site cafe or at a local pub, in a convivial atmosphere!

Peter Bennett-Davies, current Group Leader, is always to willing to discuss offers of and suggestions for talks, speakers and destinations for visits.
