All Horsley U3A members are eligible to take part in our Theatre Visits. We try to organise three to four visits a year and vary the types of play as much as possible so that we can cater to all tastes. Our trips are always very popular and usually book up quite quickly. Theatre trips are announced by an e-mail to members and at monthly meetings. Places are allocated on receipt of payment on a first paid first served basis. Lerner & Loewe’s glorious, evergreen musical My Fair Lady comes to Chichester in a brand-new production — and Horsley U3A is going!

Featuring unforgettable songs including The Rain in Spain, I Could Have Danced All Night, With a Little Bit of Luck and Wouldn’t It Be Loverly, this sparkling 20th-century masterpiece has long been regarded as the perfect musical.

Cockney flower seller Eliza Doolittle dreams of a better life — but to achieve it she must learn to speak “proper English”. When she meets Professor Henry Higgins, an expert in phonetics, he wagers he can transform her into a lady of high society. What follows is a witty, heart-warming journey of transformation for them both.

This new production is directed by Rachel Kavanaugh (The Music Man, Shadowlands, Half a Sixpence), with set and costume design by Peter McKintosh and choreography by Stephen Mear.
